Subject Knowledge Enhancement at Stockton SCITT

We are delighted to have Stockton SCITT as our fourth school based partner offering Distance Learning Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses. Stockton SCITT can now offer a fully integrated SKE course to support their ITT trainees.

SKE courses are intended to boost teacher trainees' subject knowledge prior to ITT to enable successful progression to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). They are particularly useful for those whose academic background omits aspects of their SKE specialist subject at a level necessary for teaching it in secondary schools.

All of our SKE courses are funded by the DfE and are therefore free to participants with a conditional offer. Additionally, eligible DfE-funded SKE trainees are entitled to a tax-free bursary. The bursary is dependent on attendance and progression at the required rate.

These popular courses are distance learning but may include some school-based sessions. Our courses are rich with online resources that are underpinned by our celebrated interactive videos. Use the menu on the left to select a course, read further course information and apply online.
